Wounds

As with children and adults there are many types of wounds that your pet may sustain. Call us and we can guide you as to the best action to take. Below are some guidelines.

• Bleeding:
  Cover the wound with sterile gauze and apply a pressure bandage to the would to stem the flow of blood. If yuor pet does not stop bleeding within minutes, bring it to the clinic. Certain areas of your pet are more vascular and will bleed freely such as the ears. A ripped nail may also bleed a lot: keep a pot of QwikStop on hand for nail wounds.
• Eye Injury:
  There can be exceedingly difficult to treat at home: keep Artifical Tears on hand for times when your pet may get grass seed under the tird eyelid. All other injurues should be seen by a veterinarian immediately.
