Our Staff - Our Professional Team

Our staff regularly attend veterinary education classes and conferences to keep up-to-date with new medical techniques.

Willi K. E. Weichelt, VMD
graduated University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, 1964. Started the West Chester Veterinary Medical Center, 1966, and the West Chester Animal Emergency Center in 1990. President of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association 1997. Served as Chester County SPCA Board Member and Co-Chairman of “Forget Me Not.” Member of West Goshen Lions Club since 1973. Dr. Weichelt is married to Seija, has two children Erich and Mark, a granddaughter Anna, two Springer Spaniels, Haley and Maddie, Sobo (inherited) and a cat, Boomer.
Amy Parkman, VMD
graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She currently lives in Willistown, with her husband and son and daughter. They are owned by three cats and two dogs, all of whom were collected from various rescue situations. Amy previously worked developing disaster medicine website information for pet evacuation programs. Amy has a special interest in critical care and nutrition.
Scott Humphries, DVM
graduated from Colorado State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Scott was running multiple restaurants in Tennessee, when he found his passion for veterinary science, a passion that has brought him widespread experience in animal welfare. When his wife Nicole wanted to come east to be with her family, Scott, their daughter, son and six pets all moved to West Chester. They have four dogs, three are Australian shepherds who share therapy, agility and herding joys and two adopted cats, one a retired blood donor.
Marc J. Daniel, DVM
graduated from The Ohio State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Marc and his wife, Suzanne moved to the beautiful Chester County countryside to raise their three children. They live with many animals including a dog, cat, 30 chickens and one turkey in East Bradford Township.

Holly Yerkes
one of our technicians, joined the practice in 1999 with nine years of veterinary hospital experience. Since becoming a mother of newborn twins, she works a couple of days a week, mostly helping with inventory and paperwork. Holly and her husband Russell have a daughter, twin boys, three dogs and two cats.

Laura D'Antonio, CVT
joined our staff in May 2000. She graduated in May 2004 from Delaware College with a degree in small animal science. Laura is our outpatient facilitator. She also assists in the care of our hospitalized patients and oversees the inventory. Laura has three adopted cats and two adopted dogs named Sophie and Abby.
Colleen Rado, CVT
graduated from Harcum with an Associates in Science degree, specializing in veterinary technology. She is reponsible for monitoring your pet in surgery and recovery. Colleen lives in Downingtown with her German Shepherd, Puck, who she adopted from our Center and two rescued ferrets Levon and Leroy.
Marissa Kane
comes to us with five years of experience as a veterinary technician. You will meet her when you come in for appointments with your pet. She is our Adoption Coordinator and is certified in Myofascial release. She lives in West Chester with her five rescued cats Noah, Pig-a-Pooh, Tigger, Marley and Copper and one rescued dog Cash, a Pitbull. She has a big place in her heart for all animals, but especially has a love for little baby kittens! Marissa was engaged to Stephen in January of this year.
Amanda Genova
joined our staff as a full-time ward nurse for day and emergency, and is now a technician. Amanda lives in Coatesville with her adopted cat, Milkshake. Amanda also works part-time at a horse farm and takes part in the sport Polocrosse. She plans to complete her training as a veterinarian.
Andrea Peterson, CVT
joined our team of veterinary technicians in both the Veterinary and the Emergency Centers. Andrea has worked in a feline veterinary hospital and an emergency hospital She is a graduate of Harcum College. Andrea lives in Glen Mills with her husband, 3 children, a German Shepherd called Zach and her son's fish.
Nicole Broyles
is our ward manager. She comes to us from Eagle Kennel. Nicky hopes to go to college to study to become a veterinary technician. Currently, she lives in West Chester with her fiance, Russ, three domestic short-haired cats, Token, Stony and Baby Girl, Two guinea pigs, two hamsters and one bunny.

Jennifer Cianci
is a Certified Veterinary Technician who joined our staff in 2001. She was certified at Harcum in 1998 and worked for a while in Delaware County. Jennifer lives in West Chester with her family which includes her Pomeranian, Jasmine and three cats Toby, Isaiah and Mongo.
  

Randi Runyon
is one of our receptionists. She comes to us from a business background. Randi hopes to go to school to become a veterinary technician. She lives with her husband in West Chester, along with three adopted cats, Pita a calico, Ralph an orange tabby and Lola, a domestic long-haired. Randi also has two lizards adopted from Petfinder on the internet.
Michele Robinson, CVT
is our inpatient facilitator and one of our veterinary technicians.
She received her associate degree from Harcum College in 2003, but has worked as a vet assistant since 1997. Michele enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and attends continuing education classes to stay current. She lives at home with her cats Fullerton and Gus.
Karen Matuson
has worked as one of our veterinary technicians for 15 years. She works in both our medical center and our emergency center where she is the Coordinator. Karen is married and has two children. They live with their dog Jewel, an SPCA cruelty case rescue.

Deborah Newman, CVPM
joined our practice as our hospital manager in January 2008, with more than 35 years of experience. Deborah comes to us from the west coast, where she managed multiple emergency critical care and specialty veterinary hospitals. Her CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager) accreditation comes from the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. Deborah is married to a retired veterinarian, and has three children and nine grandchildren.

Judith Steininger
has been with us for 16 years and maintains the condition of our Centers. She is also responsible for your morning coffee and all the plants. Judy lives in West Goshen often accompanied by homeless people and animals. Judy is always rescuing animals. She has 9 cats and one Jack Russell and fosters a border collie whose delight is to herd up all of Judy's cats.
Heidi Cosans
joined our team of veterinary technicians in July 2007. Heidi graduated from Harcum College and has been working in the profession for two years. She is our head lab technician, and makes up the puppy and kitten kits for our clients. Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband, dancing, wearing pink! and shopping. They have a lot of pets: a dog called Jyxer and 6 cats, Snickerdoodle, Furry, Peekaboo, Zoey, Frank and Sprite.
Sean Kelly
joined us in January 2006 as one of our ward assistants. He is currently a senior at Bishop Shanahan School in Downingtown. Sean loves basketball and wrestling and speaks Spanish. He lives with his parents, one of his two brothers and has a yellow Larador called Daisy.
Malleri Robinson
joined our team of receptionists in June. She has travelled extensively in this country coming to us from Phoenix, Arizona and previously working as the feline director of a humane society in Michigan. She attended Baker College and studied massage therapy. Malleri lives in Kennett Square with her beloved cat Edward.
  Brooke Ashlock. CVT
joined our team of certified veterinary technicians in October 2006. She graduated from Manor College and comes to us with 6 years of experience at the Chester County SPCA. Brook has two mixed-breed dogs Seige and Tucker, adopted from the SPCA and she fosters kittens and dogs as well.
  Chris Kelly
joined us in January 2006 as one of our ward assistants. He is currently a senior at Bishop Shanahan School in Downingtown. Chris hopes to have a career in animal care. He lives with his parents, one of his two brothers and has a yellow Larador called Daisy.
